We´re excited to present the 9th Annual Chateau Elan Muscadine 5.5/3.0 Mile Vineyard and Trail Running Race! Runners registration for the 2024 Chateau Elan Muscadine 5.5/3.0 Mile Trail Running Race is OPEN! We will have a cap on this race of 325 Participants! We are placing a cap on this event due to parking availability! If you are interested in participating please register soon! 

For our 2024 events we will be using a Super Soft, Tri Blend Shirt! In doing so we must adhere to the "no guarantee of a shirt with late or race day registration". We will still offer "Men's" and "Women's" Sizes (Shirts Fit Just Like the Current Ones we Use)! So Register Early and let us know what you think!

Chateau Elan will be offering a FREE Chateau Elan Signature Wine Tasting immediately following the race (at the finish area)! The Chateau Elan Inn is offering room rates at $239 for all participants (Friday Night November 15th, 2024 Only)! In order to receive the room discount you must present your race bib at check out! PACKET PICKUP

Packet pickup will be the morning of the race starting at 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Race starts at 8:00 a.m. SHARP!

RACE COURSE

5.5 Mile Course (2 Laps) / 3.0 Mile Course (1 Lap): This is a great off road running experience! The race will start in the street (required for spacing) but will soon lead into and through the Chateau Elan Vineyards. The race course will go around the outer perimeter of the vineyards for .25 and then we will turn hard right into the beautiful vineyards (making 1 pass through the vineyard) until .40 miles. At .50 miles we will make another pass through the lower vineyard for about 75 yards then uphill (next to the tennis courts). At .65 we will cross over Rue Charlemagne Drive and then hard left onto a gravel fire road. Staying straight on the gravel road for about 25 yards then hard right (downhill) on the gravel road tapping onto and turning hard right onto Fluerie Drive at .75 miles (asphalt road). Stay on Fluerie Drive for about 175 yards then turning hard right onto the sweet double track dirt trail. Crossing over an asphalt drive and headed down hill the trail will turn to the right until you get to a par 3 green and pond! At the pond turn hard left following the multi surface trail around the pond. The 1 Mile Mark will be just before turning right at the tee box. After turning right at the tee box stay straight along the pond and across a small wooden bridge headed into some tight and twisty single track trail. About 1.25 Miles the route will cross over Haven Harbour Drive winding uphill staying on the single track trail. At 1.55 Miles Turn Hard Left Onto the Street. At 1.57 Miles Turn Hard Left Onto the Gravel Road. At 1.59 Miles Turn Hard Right Staying on Gravel Road. At 1.70 Miles Take a Soft Left Onto Asphalt Road... Fluerie Drive (downhill). At 1.85 Miles Take a Hard Left Onto Golf Cart Path (just before the wooden road bridge). At 2.10 Miles Take a Hard Left Onto the Wooded Trail (uphill). At 2.30 Miles Take a Hard Right Onto Asphalt Road. At 2.32 Miles Take a Hard Left Onto Dirt Trail. At 2.50 Miles Take a Hard Right Onto Gravel / Asphalt Road (back around the beautiful vineyards and next to the horse arena). At 2.61 Miles Turn Hard Left Up Into the Vineyards. At 2.65 Turn Hard Left onto the widest row in the Vineyard. At 2.8 Miles Turn Hard Right. At 2.9 Miles Course Splits at Water Station... 5.5 Milers Turning Left at Water Station 2nd Lap (from this point forwards 2nd lap is same as 1st). 3.0 Milers Veer to the Right and Finish! The course is beautiful and offers something for every runner truly wishing to ´ditch the city´.

RACE CATEGORIES

Dirty Spokes will be handing out medals and prizes to our overall top 3 male and female finishers for each race as well as our overall male and female masters winners. We will also be handing out medals to our top 3 male and female finishers in each age group (14&U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75&U) – you must be present to receive your medal we will not mail them to you. AWARDS Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill the categories. Medals will be given out to the top three finishers in each category. Walkers are encouraged to participate; however, you should be able to complete the 5.5/3.0 miles at a 16 minute mile pace or under to receive an official time.
